Open Access

Open Access

"If information is not widely and easily accessible to society, our mission of disseminating knowledge is only half complete." The Declaration of Berlin

Free and open access to academic information, including articles and datasets, is one of the main goals of open access. There are no financial, legal, or technical obstacles to accessing a magazine that is described as 'open access.' This means that anybody can access the publication's content in any way they choose as long as they comply with the legal agreements.

In contrast to traditional subscription models, open access allows readers to access scholarly information without paying a subscription fee, allowing researchers to share their findings with a wider audience (usually via libraries).
