This literature review examines how organisational culture affects learning and knowledge processes within companies. It explores the role of cultural values, norms, attitudes, and assumptions in fostering spontaneous learning among employees. The paper provides a taxonomy of informal on-the-job learning, distinguishing between individual and organisational knowledge. Additionally, it explains how social capital facilitates knowledge sharing through social interactions among workers.</p>
<kwd-group kwd-group-type="author"><kwd>Organizational culture</kwd><kwd> workplace learning</kwd><kwd> knowledge acquisition</kwd><kwd> knowledge application</kwd><kwd> cultural values</kwd><kwd> norms</kwd><kwd> attitudes</kwd><kwd> informal learning</kwd><kwd> formal learning</kwd><kwd> social capital</kwd></kwd-group><funding-group><funding-statement>The research, authorship, and publication of this article were not funded by any specific grants from public, commercial, or non-profit agencies.</funding-statement></funding-group></article-meta></front><back>
<title>Data Availability</title><p>The study does not include any data sharing components.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
<title>Conflicts of Interest</title><p>All authors state that there are no conflicts of interest.</p>
<title>Authors&#x2019; Contributions</title><p>The author was solely responsible for the study's conception, data collection, analysis, interpretation, and manuscript preparation.</p>
<title>Funding Statement</title><p>The research, authorship, and publication of this article were not funded by any specific grants from public, commercial, or non-profit agencies.</p>
<title>software-information</title><p>No software or tools were applied in this study.</p>
<ack><title>Acknowledgments</title><p>I extend my gratitude to everyone who contributed their expertise to this study and manuscript, and to the anonymous reviewers for their helpful comments.</p></ack><ref-list content-type="authoryear"><ref id="1"><label>1</label><element-citation publication-type="journal"><p>-</p></element-citation></ref></ref-list></back></article>
